Friday, 2/13 – Valentine’s Day at School Wear red, white, pink, or clothes with hearts or flowers Be creative!
Continuing the theme of kindness, on Thursday, February 12, there will be a PTA sponsored Community Service Night for children in grades 3-5. Children will rotate among several activity stations where they can contribute in a hands-on way to local causes. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please Join us for an evening of service. More details are available from the PTA.
As all are aware, we have decided to further expand our Valentine’s Day celebration guidelines to permit classes to have pizza parties as part of the fun and excitement of the day!
If a class would like to have a Valentine’s pizza party, we ask class parents to please coordinate all arrangements (including where the pizza is being ordered from) with the classroom teacher and Nurse Higgins. NOTE: It is very important that class parents work closely with Nurse Higgins to ensure all students are safe and can participate in the pizza celebration. If necessary, there might be the need to provide an alternate choice for any student that might not be permitted to have pizza. This will need to be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
Students are also still welcome to bring Valentine’s cards, small age-appropriate items, and non-food goodie bags to exchange with one another. We are looking forward to a fun and exciting Valentine’s celebration!
The Tuckahoe Athletic Council is proud to present March Dadness 2026! See attached flier for more details!

Building Bridges - Volunteers Needed! Coming soon: During the week of March 23, the Tuckahoe PTA is pleased to bring the Building Bridges program back to Cottle, and we will be expanding into Tuckahoe Middle School with an exciting assembly in April. Building Bridges is designed to teach students about people with different disabilities and neurodiversities. Each elementary grade covers a different topic, and parent volunteers engage with interactive activities for each class (and we make it super easy!). Stay tuned for a SignUpGenius coming out after the February break. Time slots get snapped up quickly, so don't miss your opportunity to help your kids' class build inclusivity for all.
Finally, thank you for your partnership in helping us to create a Random Acts of Kindness week that is centered on kindness, connection, and caring for others. Educating the mind without educating the heart is not true education. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact us directly at Cottle.
Sincerely,
John Morash and Peter Kilgallen,
Principal Assistant Principal
