Dear Cottle Families,
As we welcome the final days of March, we celebrate the arrival of spring and the exciting activities ahead! With warmer days on the horizon, our students are embracing new learning opportunities, engaging in creative projects, and preparing for upcoming events that highlight their hard work and dedication.
PLAY BALL!!Baseball is back, and excitement is in the air as the Yankees and Mets gear up for the 2025 season! Both the Yankees and Mets are looking to make deep playoff runs. So let's go Yankees and let's go Mets !!
Next week, we proudly recognize Autism Acceptance Week, a time to celebrate the uniqueness of every individual and promote understanding, kindness, and inclusion. At Cottle, we believe in fostering a supportive community where all students feel valued and accepted. Throughout the week, we will engage in activities that encourage empathy, educate about autism, and highlight the strengths and talents of individuals on the spectrum. We are excited to share with you that once again our Cottle 4th and 5th grade chorus members will sing the national anthem at a Mets game this year. We do have seats remaining if you would like to purchase tickets to cheer us on as our Cottle Chorus Cubs sing at CitiField. Here are the details:
Date: Saturday, May 24th, 2025 (Memorial Day weekend)
Time: 7 PM game start time
Game: Mets vs Dodgers
Price: $50
Checks should be made out to "Tuckahoe UFSD" and submitted to Mrs. Kim. It will be first come first serve.
The Tuckahoe Athletic Council is hosting March Dadness this Saturday at the THS gym. The Cottle G.O. is sponsoring the concession stand for this March Dadness event, and we need your help! We are looking for donations of individually wrapped snack items, such as:
- Water bottles
- Mini Gatorade bottles
- Mini chip bags
- Mini pretzel bags
- Candy bars (Starburst, sour candy, M&Ms, etc.)
Last night's Principal’s PJ Read-Aloud was a fantastic evening filled with storytelling, community, and the joy of reading! Students cozied up in their pajamas as we shared the inspiring book I Am Enough by Grace Byers, a beautiful story that celebrates self-love, kindness, and embracing who we are. It was truly heartwarming to see our Cottle community come together for this special event. A huge thank you to Deidre Callahan and our amazing PTA for organizing and hosting this memorable night , your dedication and support continue to make a difference for our students!

Earth Day Celebration, April 5 + GREEN TEAM Student Volunteers Needed! The PTA will be holding an Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 5. We need donations for our Earth Day Swap! Yankee vs Toronto Blue Jays Game Fundraiser, April 26, 1:05 pm @ Yankee Stadium Join the PTA at the Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday, April 26 at 1:05pm. Your ticket includes a Yankees backpack and a $15 voucher for concessions. Buy your tickets HERE! Deadline to buy tickets is April 12.
PTA Spring Social, May 2, 7:30pm @ Wykagyl Country Club Tickets are now on sale for PTAs biggest fundraiser of the year! Join us to connect with other parents, enjoy a much-needed adult-only night out and raise some money to support the fabulous programs the PTA provides to all Tuckahoe students! Evening Event, Dr Joanna Robin on “Letting Kids Fail: Building Confidence and Resilience, May 7, 7:30pm @ TMS/HS Library Dr. Robin’s presentation will focus on the crucial role of allowing children to experience failure in building resilience and confidence, highlighting the importance of making mistakes and providing corrective feedback and promoting a growth mindset by encouraging effort - and much more.
